It’s one month until our Highcliffe Castle concert on 12 December… can we mention the ‘C’ word yet? Still too early? Well, just in case, here’s a video of a song we performed last year which is not actually about Christmas…
English composer Patrick Hawes talks about his piece ‘Quanta Qualia’, which we will be performing – in a new SSAA arrangement! – on Monday 20 August in Dorchester.
We’re collectively pretty excited about this!

The audience were treated to a variety of music including John Rutter’s All Things Bright and Beautiful, the popular You Raise Me Up, plus Fairy Chorus from Mendelssohn’s Midsummer Night’s Dream and choral songs and solos by Vivaldi, Haydn and Puccini.
Principal, Michelle Nova also performed two wonderful pieces; Pace Pace Mio Dio and Gypsy Fiddles.

La Nova Singers took part in the first ‘Art Boot Sale’ at The Study Gallery, North Road College, Poole, Dorset, on Saturday 31st January, which ran from 10am to 12 noon. The weather was windy and very cold but they were warm as they performed inside the gallery next to the cafe. They sang an eclectic mix of music from opera, operetta, musicals, medieval and popular songs, which was very well received by a good sized audience. There was much excitement about the singers and several people had come along especially to hear them after seeing their name listed in the advertising of this new and exciting event. The singers also had enquiries to perform at future events.
One of the other artists taking part was Olivia Keith who is a Reportage Artist and she asked if she could draw us while we were singing. It is a wonderful picture and we are so pleased that she chose us as her subject.
This new event turned out to be very successful and you will be able to see La Nova Singers at the Gallery in the future.
